The trucks are manufactured by the Russian company Evocargo and are equipped with a multi-component perception and navigation system. Navigation is assured using LiDARs, sonars, and cameras, while an onboard computing unit coordinates vehicle movement using sensor and navigation data, enabling immediate response to changes in the road environment. The trucks can operate around the clock. Recharging coincides with loading and unloading operations, when the trucks are stationary.
The vehicles are fully electric, offering an eco-friendly solution that supports the sustainability objectives of EVRAZ NTMK. The company has been working over many years to reduce its environmental impact, implementing initiatives to modernize equipment and reduce air pollution as part of the national "Clean Air" project.
EVRAZ NTMK is considering expansion of its autonomous truck fleet to serve a new route, which is more than 13 kilometers long.
