Evocargo robot trucks enter service in Russia’s biggest special economic zone
Rockwool-Volga LLC and Evocargo automate cargo transportation
A Russian branch of the world’s leading manufacturer of rock wool has contracted Evocargo to provide freight transportation at its industrial site using robot trucks. Evocargo will provide a fleet of six electric-powered autonomous vehicles.

Evocargo’s N1 driverless trucks will transport pallets with mineral wool on three routes at Rockwool-Volga’s site, which is part of the Alabuga special economic zone in the Republic of Tatarstan. The Alabuga zone has been acclaimed by Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development for its efficiency and ranked first in a recent national rating of the investment attractiveness of such zones. The NI trucks use AI technologies and are equipped with a multi-sensor system for perception of the environment, navigation, and safe driving around other vehicles.

Evocargo is the only company in Russia that provides full-service autonomous cargo transportation using a robots-as-a-service business model. The solution is based on electric AVs, which are designed and produced by Evocargo entirely in-house.The service is offered through month-by-month contracts, so that the customer does not have to carry out substantial capital expenditures.
Automation and robotization are a high priority for the company’s development. The project will greatly simplify routine operations and reduce traffic at the production site, making operations safer. Autonomous transportation will increase business efficiency and make a substantial contribution to sustainable development, reducing atmospheric emissions.
