While many market players are still working on prototypes of unmanned trucks, Evocargo is already deploying driverless trucks in real-world conditions, scaling its service and moving towards fully autonomous logistics.
Severstal-metiz plans to deploy the Evocargo N1, which is the fifth-generation AV from Evocargo, built without driver's cabin, steering wheel or pedals. The robotic platform functions using a complex multi-sensor perception system based on modern machine learning algorithms. Artificial intelligence technologies, computer vision and a range of sensors give the vehicle a 360° field of vision, so that it can react to obstacles three times faster than a human driver. At Severstal-metiz, Evocargo trucks are being tested for in-plant movements of various cargoes: materials, containers, packaging and lubricants.
